Being a small economy in a competitive world, Australia must capitalise on its research capabilities. The ICT Centre of Excellence is ensuring that we do so for ICT research. The Centre is:

• developing first class ICT research programmes in existing and emerging fields;
• increasing the availability of high quality ICT research skills by providing post-graduate training and attracting ICT researchers from overseas;
• becoming a catalyst for the development of networks and clusters of ICT research and industry; and
• growing Australia’s national capacity to create and exploit ICT for the national benefit..
