Information

Skilled Migration to Australia

Take the next step now…more opportunities than ever to migrate to Australia!

Skilled Migration to Australia

* additional 20,000 skilled visas available in 2005-06, totalling 97,000
* more trades and engineering occupations will be added to an expanded Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)
* an extra 10 points will be allocated for State/Region sponsorship under the Skilled Independent Regional (SIR) visa
* introduction of a new pilot program allowing overseas students to undertake trade apprenticeships in regional Australia

The Skilled Migration Program is an official Government initiative to overcome skill shortages within the Australian workforce and to identify individuals who can make a valuable contribution to Australia’s thriving economy.

Australia’s economy is thriving with over 150,000 jobs being advertised each week and unemployment at its lowest level in 10 years.

If you are a skilled professional, tradesperson or student graduating from an Australian university, you can qualify for unrestricted Australian working rights for you and your partner, allowing you to secure employment without the requirement for sponsorship.

Australian Government statistics confirms 89% of Skilled Independent visa holders gain employment within first 6 months and 92% within 18 months.

Skilled Visa Program

Welcome to the Skilled Visa Assessment. Please answer the following questions to find out if you qualify for a Skilled Visa to Australia in accordance with criteria specified by the Australian Department of Immigration, Multicultural & Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA).

Skilled Assessment Step 1 of 3
What industry do you work in:
Please nominate your occupation from the Australian Government's Skilled Occupation List (SOC):

Please note that completing the Assessment is intended to provide a preliminary indication of your eligibility under the Skilled migration stream only and does not guarantee any outcome in relation to any visa application you may submit.

As Immigration laws are subject to constant change and there is more than one stage of assessment involved in applying for a visa under any permanent category, please be aware that further analysis must be conducted in order to determine your suitability, particularly in relation to family or state/ territory sponsorship and/ or your suitability under the occupational category you select.
